2018 Mitsubishi Shogun Changes, Price - Mitsubishi Shogun goes by many names in different markets. It is Mitsubishi Montero in South America and India and Mitsubishi Pajero in the Asian market. The 2018 Mitsubishi Shogun was unveiled this year at the Tokyo motor show. It is now a plug-in hybrid with more security and off-road capabilities. This combination of being eco-friendly and having off-road abilities will be a game changer.
EXTERNAL BODY PARTS AND INNER COSMETIC CHANGES
The exterior of this next generation car has been revamped both at the front and back. The fog lamps now have a matte finish giving it a brighter look. The front grill is more shiny and aggressive. This is because of the chrome finishing and trimming that has been done to it. At the rear, all the lights have been upgraded to LED.
These lights are larger and are curved to cover both the rear and side. Additionally, the roof now comes with rail that is both functional and good looking. It reinforces the roof and provides a place to put extra luggage. The wheel rims have been given a matt black finish and redesigned to give a sporty look.
Being a large SUV with seven seats, the past generations of the 2018 Shogun had a small leg room on the third row. The 2018 Mitsubishi Shogun now has a bigger cabin hence sufficient leg room on the third row. This third row can now be easily folded by using a button at the back to create more luggage space.
High-quality leather now covers both the seats and the steering wheel. This makes the Shogun a comfortable car to drive in. It also adds a more premium feel to it, something that lacked in the past generation. The overall visibility of the cabin has been improved. Larger windows that are electrically opened and closed are the reason for this. On top of that camera covering all blind spots are linked to the 12-inch display in front of the driver.
ENGINE AND PERFORMANCE
Replacing the 2.4-liter engine is a 3.6-liter V6 engine. More instant power is provided by the pack of lithium batteries. This is however not just any hybrid car, Mitsubishi calls the technology, PHEV (Plug-in Hybrid EV system). These two drive trains are linked to the wheels by an 8-speed automatic dual clutch transmission.
The performance of the 2018 Mitsubishi Shogun will be tailored to the driving needs. The electric mode is used alone for light driving such as during the morning commute to work in a city. On the other hand, when driving on tough terrain both the batteries and the V6 are used together.
None of the all wheel magic present in the past generation has been lost. You can now switch between four and two wheel driving modes using a button on the wheel. The car also detects the terrain it is driving on and switches automatically to the four-wheel mode in a rough and slippery ground.
Safety is now a top priority in the new car. A collision system comes standard in the car. It is able to detect moving objects in front of the car and apply emergency brakes automatically. Additionally, a system of cameras covers all the blind spot. This together with a system of sensors detects any cars moving towards you from the blind spots. It then gives the driver a warning.

The car is expected to be available in the market from mid-2018 at around June. The asking price is expected to be around $52,000 and $75,000.
