2018 GMC ACADIA ENGINE, SPACE, CHANGES, FEATURES, PRICE - The new 2018 GMC Acadia is coming a year after this model received the full redesign, ten years after its initial launch. The second-generation Acadia is smaller in size but more powerful. It is also significantly lighter and delivers refined ride in any driving situation. There is also the new four-cylinder engine and Acadia is also loaded with modern tech, safety and convenience features. The 2018 Acadia will be the replica of the current version except GMC might offer more standard equipment and new equipment package.
The upcoming Acadia won’t change the range of available trim options. The model will come well-equipped starting from the base SL trim while each upper trim will gradually offer more luxuries. Following the base trim will be SLE and then comes SLT while the top Denali trim will round out the offer. The Acadia will also come with two engine options including the base four-cylinder and optional V-6 unit. The list of active safety aids will also be available.
The new 2018 GMC Acadia will feature improved body structure that is lighter, shorter and narrower than on the previous generation models. The Acadia will have 193.6 inches in length which is 7.2 shorter than on the first generation of this model. It also has 3.3 inches less in width and 6.6 inches in height compared to the previous iteration.
The Acadia will ride on the multi-material C1XX platform which debuted on the Cadillac’s 2017 XT5. Thanks to the modern platform and smaller proportions the new-generation Acadia also weighs 740 lbs less.

The styling of the Acadia is the familiar form. The model will include trapezoidal grille which design will vary depending on the trim level. There will also be angular headlights and sleek front bumper. Sculpted fenders and modern taillights with some rear side trim inserts will complement its design.
The interior design of the Acadia will be similar to what we can see on brand’s trucks. The model will have the well-arranged center stack with controls that are easy to recognize and use. The front seats will provide high-level comfort and the middle row will also offer a good amount of space. The third row of seats will be suitable for the kids.
All Acadias will come with IntelliLink infotainment system. The system will include an 8-inch touchscreen and Apple Car Play and Android Auto features. The OnStar system and 4G LLTE Wi-FI will also be available. The base models will also feature 17-inch wheels, driver information display, three-zone climate control, keyless entry and ignition, etc.
The SLE trim will add 18-inch wheels, fog lights, power adjustable and heated front seats, etc. On the SLT available will be leather upholstery, heated middle seats, driver memory feature, and additional safety features.
The Denali will add unique wheels and grille, virtual gauge display, ventilated front seats, heated and power steering wheel, upgraded upholstery, etc.
Available active safety features will include lane departure warning, surround-view cameras, lane keeping assist, pedestrian detection and low-speed automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, etc.
The base 2018 GMC Acadia will come equipped with the 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine. This engine is good for 193 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque. It comes with a six-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive is optional and returns fuel economy of 25 mpg combined. With the front-wheel drive, the score will be 26 mpg combined.
A more powerful 3.5-liter V-6 features stop-start and Active Fuel management system. It can produce 310 hp and torque of 271 lb-ft. With this engine, Acadia will return 25 mpg combined with both FWD and AWD.
