Jaguar XJR is the English version of the S-Class AMG, or full-blown 7-Series from BMW. I have not driven since the S63 latest version came out, but I have driven the latest Bimmer and I must say I think XJR will hit them both, overall. Interior Mercedes' was a bit better, but if I'm going to import a six-figure luxury sedans, such as Jeremy Clarkson, I took Jaaaaagg.

Like the last review of the six-cylinder equipped XJ Portfolio, the XJ exterior design stays right on point. This one cocaine white with black wheels, one of my favorite combination, just a touch of chrome ($ 500) that sets it off well. I was at a party on Sunday, and few people have commented on how nice it looks (one also commented on the tin open Mountain Dew I was in the cupholder, noting that I am probably the only person in history to bring one of them into XJR). It looks super-long, although this one is not a long-wheelbase models.

Inside, we XJR sport dark brown leather with black trim, which looks good with white exterior. I have not decided if I like carbon trim package ($ 1,575), which runs on the door and around the front of the dash, though it lacks the "R" logo in the center, which I like. I'm still not out of googly-eyed fan vent A / C, but the functionality is great. You simply need to take the center and the point where the way you please. The A / C works great, and it was a hot weekend I XJR, so that a new baby and I appreciated. Speaking of, it was a little harder than I expected to slip child seat behind the passenger seat. I moved it half a foot and it fit, but it took about half the front passenger legroom away. With all that long, I would think I could throw it right there. Oh, and frickin 'hooks for a basic seat that is almost impossible to obtain. I gave up on Saturday, but managed on Sunday. On the plus side, the radio and infotainment touchscreen is way better than a generation ago, both in appearance and functionality.

Obviously, the best part of this beast is a five-liter supercharged heart. I said in the last supercharged V6 makes "a lot sooner." This car is a bean bag with a jet pack, or memory foam mattress with a spaceship attached. I can not even really put the pedal on the surface of the road - it was too frickin 'fast. Getting on the highway, though - holy smoke. It will hit triple-digit speeds while others still tie their shoes. It sounds great too. And for a little tail-out fun, do not hesitate to put the traction control in TracDSC mode, and it will swing wide.

Upshifts at full speed, or use the paddle shifters, super-fast - the automatic transmission is one of the best non-gearbox dual-clutch that I experienced. Shifts in this Jag has the right amount of kick to super-luxury cruiser. Now, there are some times that I want to downshift or double-downshift and did not get one, but I could have been in the wrong range. Electricity basically is on tap everywhere, as long as you put it on the floor and survive. The brakes are a bit finicky, though - they are sensitive but gentle, so if you do not have good control of the ankle that you really can get some whiplash.

Because the aluminum body, motor and brake sensitive nuclear reactor, the XJR does not feel like a heavyweight, especially for the dimensions. It did not feel planted around cloverleaves, and over road imperfections, but not careless. The steering wheel gets relatively quickly in sport and race modes, but still, I'm sure the brakes will work hard after a few laps on the track.

suspension, as it was in the XJ Portfolio, is the right mix of sport and comfort. It may be a little softer than the BMW and sporty less than Mercedes. The parts of the road that has been cold patched a hundred times? They just signed up as a quiet rumble in the cabin. There is not much either lift or dive when braking or accelerating hard.

As for the stickers, it was surprisingly fair. The S63 AMG starts at $ 144,000 or more, and the Audi S8 starts at $ 115,000, well before the selection. Jaguar has what I call a more "flava" of the two, more stylish. The purchase also tell a fellow driver, "I was able to clean lines, tight gaps and techno wizardry from Germany, but I prefer the English."
